South Yorkshire’s roof-stock is heavier on terrace and ex-mining-village stock than Nottinghamshire — Cudworth, Royston, Wombwell (Barnsley), Rawmarsh, Wath-upon-Dearne (Rotherham/Doncaster fringe), Stocksbridge, Deepcar (Sheffield S35/S36). Post-war and 1990s rear extensions built as cold-roof felt; after 15-20 years the felt fails AND the cold-roof condensation problem starts to show on the ceiling below — black mould in corners, peeling paint, damp staining. “Slipped tiles or slates after the storm”

“Box gutter or parapet detail leaks”
Common on terrace stock with rear-projection extensions. Lead-work replacement plus corrected fall £400-£900. Often catches a chronic leak that previous patches haven’t solved.
“Garage roof’s been leaking for years”
